The only thing that gets you secure in life is power. It’s the fear that if someone goes against you, they will suffer from consequences. That’s why I support organized labor. No amount of soft peddling abuses of power will make your life better.
You have to be the person who takes the baseball bat out and hits the bully. That’s how you end up not being screwed in life. And you do that by being more intelligent and more fearless – when it comes to your social strategy in real life.
No, I don’t think playing nice with people who disliked me anyways would have helped me one bit.
