I think what should made clear, is that most reasonably traditionalist Democrats, most moderate Democrats, do in fact want to secure the border. they just don’t like trump’s grandstanding about it. His name calling. His throwing gasoline. I think extreme liberals read this whole thing wrong – almost fell into trump’s trap and promoted open borders.
Democrats are not the party of open borders. Yes Trump throws gasoline, I get that. Democrats have a long history of enforcing immigration laws. They just know to not grandstand about it. To not brag about it.
