The difference between the conservative Democrat, which is on the rails, but I suspect is going to make a comeback, and the conservative Republican is on issues primarily towards how much the government should help poor people. Should you look to throw people in jail for having an abortion, or should you try to get them the finances they need to raise the baby? Also, conservative Democrats never were against the environmentalism.
Also, in the year 2020, a conservative Democrat really needs to understand the party is a big tent. You can’t go saying “get out of my tent” although I think liberals are more guilty of that.
edit: Extreme social liberals (unwind western civilization types) greatly overestimate their representation, and think they’re in a position to basically say “it’s my party, leave it.” Actually they’re not even a majority of Democrats.
