Things likes stripping health care, lowering wages, busting unions and firing workers aren’t just a result of carelessness or outside influence, they’re battle cries and points of pride for Republicans. Again, yes Democrats do sell out, but Republicans do it out of pride.
One thing that caused me to be too passive in the 2008-2016 years is that I didn’t realize just how extreme Republicans were on economics. I thought they were people who were focused more on abortion and things like that. It seemed like there was a bipartisan consensus.
No, they WORSHIP corporations. Republicans aren’t just people who get too many donations from big corporations, the ideology comes from out of them. It’s not forced on them. Even though Democrats sell out, Republicans internalize this.
