Republicans are not controlled by corporations, they get out of bed every day thinking about how they can shrink the government and take pride, it makes them feel good. Reagan Democrats are just sell outs who tried to be like Republicans when for a while, their economic policies were popular.
But now people are opening their eyes. They’re seeing that all this shrink the government, free market stuff comes at a price, and the price is the hallowing out and destruction of the American dream, the middle class, and the ladder which someone can climb up.
