Goals have to be realistic. My realistic goal is to convince people who are just learning about politics that there are really 4 political factions instead of 2, but in the 2000s, the media tried heavily to roll them into 2 factions.
There are:
Liberal Democrats
Populist Conservative Democrats
Conservative Republicans
Libertarian Republicans
People have tried to use issues like abortion and gay marriage to define party affiliation, essentially rolling 4 political factions into 2. When we undo this, we’ll show that this is a top down move, not a bottom up move, and there still remains 4 factions.
