Blaming the Victim to Blaming the System (my evolution)GB819: June 7, 2020 |

It’s hard to believe that i at one point did have views that basically were more racist than they were anti-systemic, but it started from an economic delusion about free markets. I used to believe that free markets were “fair” and that more or less if you were rich it was because you were smarter, harder working, more innovative or just somehow better, and if you were poor it was your own fault. But that was when I was hit with a lot of propaganda in business classes in college (I was an IFS major, business and computer programming). As soon as I realized our system is imperialistic and anti-meritocratic, it didn’t take me long to stop holding derogatory views towards blacks and browns. And now I see such views as outright legitimizing the power structure, as does anyone who race baits too much (because the fire fighter gets called to put out fires).
